Thoughts of an Anagram

The beginning of our story starts with 2 work colleagues who have hobbies that one day became intertwined. A simple request to illustrate one poem became a vision to not only create more but to bring these hidden talents to a wider audience.

Thoughts of an Anagram volume 1.

The first book was published in February 2026 and was designed to test if there was a need for a poetry book that combined everyday musings with bold illustration.

We carefully selected 15 poems which covered a wide range of topics and emotions. Each poem was accompanied with an illustration which not only captured the feeling of the poem but left viewers with questions and thoughts to then go back to the poem for further reading.

The book was released on Amazon Kindle the same month and reviews so far have been positive with many people inquiring if more books would be published.

This book is available in a couple of shops in Liverpool with an aim to expand into more independent bookshops.

Thoughts of an Anagram volume 2

After the success of Thoughts of an Anagram volume 1 we decided to start another book. This time we wanted to create a book which took all of the essence from volume 1 but improve upon each element. The book has more poems, a larger text size, more of an introduction to the life of Eric La' Pup and an even wider selection of topics.

The book is 140 pages with 36 carefully selected poems. The content is incredibly varied and not only covers the joy and humour in the everyday but highlights important social and political issues current and historically.

The harsh realities of life are dealt with in a sensitive but honest way with the Author describing his personal battle with his Father's dementia.

Our aim to resonate with as many people as possible is prevalent throughout the book ranging from the hilarious poem '5 Year Ikea' to the heart-breaking piece 'Spooning with Mum'.

This book is due out for sale in physical copies and on Amazon Kindle store in late October 2026.

We will update the website once this is released.

2027 onwards...

We are looking ahead to creating more poetry books with a possibility of an illustrated Eric La' Pup autobiography.

We are also keen to explore a book which contains poems just about Liverpool capturing the City's humour, love, people and different areas within this unique place.

We also will be looking at selling individual artwork prints from both books and are in talks to create more branded clothing.

We hope you join us for this ride and we welcome input from readers to help shape future projects.

We look forward to seeing you in person at various book events and makers markets. Follow us on Instagram for updated information on where we may appear. @ericlapup.poetry
